A friend who stayed on in China wound up having trouble finding SIM cards that worked with his phone.  It worked but the charges per minute were huge to USA.    My other friend had a China phone somebody in country loaned him and I think his charges per minute to USA were small.   

So based on that I&#039;d recommend you find a *trusted* China contact to buy you a phone in country or advise you on SIM cards.  There are a lot of what look like phone sales scams at the stores and markets so be very, careful if you try to buy your own phone and plan in China.]]></description>
