Kim Tragedy


The Kim Tragedy in Southern Oregon refers to the tragic death of James Kim near the Rogue River in the Southern Oregon Wilderness. The Kim Tragedy happened in December of 2006. James and Kati Kim and two daughters were on a trip to the Oregon Coast and became lost off the Bear Camp route from Merlin to Gold Beach. The car was stranded in the wilderness for 9 days when Kati and children were found, safe. Unfortunately James had left two days earlier to find help. His body was found two days after the rescue of his family.
