– Going to the Tututun Lodge, Gold Beach, OR
– The family called the lodge coming from the Seattle area. Said
they were about 3 hours away, left their credit card info and
were never heard from.
– County sheriff thinks they may have used mapquest for
directions to the lodge.
– Mapquest directs them along highway 38 that gets up to 4500’,
covered w/ snow and not passable.

Governor’s Office reception desk gets call from a Mr. Barry Briggs from CNet
inquiring if the Governor’s Office could request helicopters to help with the
search and rescue efforts. This message is given to Danny Santos, Policy
Advisor. Contact is made with OSP Gregg Hastings who provides a summary
that Portland Police and OSP have shared the missing person information with
law enforcement around the state. It is unclear as to any specific location the
family might be between Portland and Gold Beach.

inform him that we were notified of a civilian helicopter agency has been
contracted to assist in the search.
– The sheriff indicated that the Father is extremely wealthy. Been trying to get
helicopters to assist in search. The father is taking a private jet coming into
Medford and the sister is taking a private jet into Gold Beach.

OSP Springfield Area Command Lt. Mike Bloom contacted OSP Southwest
Region Area Command lieutenants to assign patrol resources to check all possible
routes to Gold Beach within their assigned areas. OSP Lt. Bloom also contacted
the Lane County Sheriff’s Office and requested that LCSO deputies assigned to
Highway 126 be provided information about the Kim family.

– Douglas County sheriff’s office took photos to Denny’s and thought it was the
family.

were confident that the Kims were not on Bear Camp Road.
Rubrecht stated that she had been told that Curry County
had ended their search on 12/01/2006 and Josephine
County planned to end their search also.

destination of the family, the new information and the

During meeting OSP Detective Deanna Harris contacted Eric Fuqua of
Edge Wireless and confirmed the cell phone “ping”
information. She asked if Fuqua would meet with
investigators and provide a map of the area. During this
conversation Fuqua stated that the “ping” was not specific
in location, however, the “ping” indicated that the Kim
phone was within a 26- mile radius of that specific tower on
11/26/2006.

and obtained the cell phone records for all incoming &
outgoing calls made on the additional cell phones (2) that
belonged to the Kims. Those records confirmed 3 outgoing
calls made to the Tu Tu Tun Lodge on 11/25/2006
originating from the Salem/Albany areas.
