There's nothing wrong with pointing out mistakes, problems, defects, abuses, and stupidity.  In fact the last has enormous explanatory power for us all, especially in association with the notion that you should

"Never attribute to malice what can be adequately explained by stupidity"

HOWEVER, I tire of people who think that by bitching about problems they somehow forego responsibility for a far more important aspect of problem solving – the FIX.

I'll take one clever solution for every 1000 moans and groans about why something isn't working right.  We're all guilty of this, but I think that responsible people tend to say "That sucks, and HERE is a possible solution!".    I like that dialog.    Of course most of the suggested FIXes to problems resulting from stupidity and incompetence are themselves stupid, incompetent or (very common) self -serving nonsense.

So, how can we get more people to unselfishly step up to the plate and really offer creative and innovative solutions to the most pressing problems?   

What's the incentive for great problem solving?  Money?   Prestige?   Fame?   Pride?   Free Fish?
